This last weekend was insane to say the least. Countless out of town shredders, various jams, the Vans Invitational Hastings contest, etc. The beauty / no-brainer of the whole thing was the ability for everyone to go straight from the Vans contest to Fortune Sound Club downtown for the JFA show. The Tubuloids opening, standing room only, old school mosh pit, avoiding lakes of vomit, Jak’s everywhere, major SoCal contingent; felt like the mid 80s all over again. Things didn’t end there though as the after party / Ramp Jam at SBC Rampstaurant down the street was just an extension of the mayhem. If you’re a JFA fan, it was definitely THE NIGHT as you got to watch legendary lead vocalist Brian Brannon not only play an aggro live set, but then also slash and rip it up on the SBC ramp with the locals and other Vans contest entrants.
